No Up Front Costs for Landlords

16 August

Landlords need to begin to think about the Energy Saving Improvements that could be made to their properties.

As from 2016 Landlords will not unreasonably be able to refuse requests from their tenants with concerns to energy saving improvements.

Further into 2018 all domestic houses must be brought up to a minimum Energy Efficient Standard rating, If not fines may be enforced.

For Landlords it is an opportunity to improve the look and value of their rental properties whilst making homes more attractive to future tenants.

It is not just the Landlord that will benefit from Green Deal but also the Tenant as they will be living in a more comfortable, warmer property that is easier and cheaper to heat.

The Landlord gets the Energy saving improvements carried out to their properties without any upfront costs.

The loan is taken out against the property and paid back through the electricity bills on a pay as you save basis. Although the Green Deal charges are attached to their electricity bills, tenants will still see a reduction to their fuel bills.

Please remember The Green Deal loan can be taken out by either the Landlord or the Tenant but both will have to provide consent to this.

For more information regarding the Green Deal please call Warm Heat, on 08432 891 930
